Ya está aquí, tu bebé es una tierna bolita que, de momento, solo se expresa llorando. Sea como sea es precioso y tiene mucho que aprender: de momento no es consciente de que es un ser aparte de su mamá ni sabe que tiene pies, ni ha descubierto que puede balbucear o gritar o reír y que eso provoca diversas reacciones en las personas que cuidan de él… Todas estas cosas las irá descubriendo en los próximos seis meses y tú le acompañarás en esta evolución y te emocionarás y asombrarás por sus logros. Te contamos como es la evolución de tu bebé de 0 a 6 meses.
Un bebé recién nacido mantiene la postura fetal, con las piernas y los brazos flexionados. Necesita ayuda para sostener la espalda y la cabeza y tiende a encorvarse y a hacerse una bolita.
Presenta reflejos de búsqueda, succión, prensión palmar y moro o sobresalto (el bebé está tranquilo y, de repente, extiende los brazos y abre las palmas). Este reflejo también se produce ante determinados estímulos, como la sensación de caída.
Son los reflejos primitivos y sirven tanto para la supervivencia (succión) como para desarrollar correctamente el sistema nervioso y que, en el futuro, el niño pueda ejecutar movimientos y acciones complejas y actividades que requieran desarrollar la motricidad fina (coger unas pinzas y agarrar objetos con ellas, tomar un boli y escribir…).

Tocad a vuestro pequeño, dadle masajitos, acariciadlo, estimulad sus reflejos jugando, pero no lo forcéis a que pase a otra fase ni le presionéis para que consiga antes de tiempo una habilidad para la que no está preparado. Todo tiene que ser juego, diversión y experimentación respetando el ritmo de cada niño.
Con un mes de edad, el tono muscular del bebé ha mejorado mucho y, si está tumbado boca abajo, puede levantar la cabeza durante unos segundos. Sigue manteniendo brazos y piernas en flexión y los puños cerrados. Todavía están presentes los reflejos de presión palmar, de moro y de marcha automática. Los bebitos no solo cierran las manos para agarrar cuando algo se las roza, sino que, también, cierran los pies. Con el tiempo, perdemos flexibilidad y habilidad en los pies, una lástima porque a las mamis muchas veces no nos basta con dos manos…
Las extremidades siguen flexionadas la mayor parte del tiempo, pero empieza a moverlas más. Empieza a abrir las manos.
Comienza a intentar apoyarse sobre los brazos para levantar la cabeza cuando está boca abajo.
Empieza a moverse con intención y patalea con fuerza y mueve brazos y manos con cierto frenesí. Las manos están más tiempo abiertas.
Cuando está sentado encima de alguien se encorva menos y sostiene recta la cabeza al mismo nivel que el tronco.
Si está boca abajo puede extender las piernas y apoyarse en los antebrazos para levantar la cabeza y empiezan los primeros intentos de darse la vuelta. Las manos son el primer descubrimiento de su cuerpo, empieza a intentar coger cosas con ellas,
Cuando se le pone algo en la mano todavía la cierra involuntariamente (reflejo de prensión palmar): atrapa el objeto y seguidamente afloja la presión. Es esa etapa en la que todo lo que agarra acaba cayendo indefectiblemente al suelo. Genial, así hacemos ejercicio extra recogiendo y recogiendo.
El llanto es la primera y única forma de comunicación oral de los bebés durante sus primeros días de vida. Puede ser diferente según sus necesidades y puede expresar hambre, sueño, incomodidad, malestar, pañal mojado… ¡Suerte y fuerza para averiguar qué le pasa!
El bebé responde cuando le hablas con muecas expresivas (movimientos exagerados de la boca o frunce el ceño o arruga la frente o todo a la vez) que no se corresponden con lo que le estamos diciendo. Sonríe, pero es un acto reflejo. El nene es mono y gracioso y sus expresiones resultan cómicas. Creo que los babys empiezan a intuir muy pronto que hacen mucha gracia y despiertan una ternura infinita.
Hacia la sexta semana sonreirá verdaderamente por primera vez
Empieza a vocalizar “a”, “e” y “o” cuando está contento o comunicativo o a gusto o algo le llama la atención o ha pasado algo que le da placer. También empieza a emitir consonantes guturales (“k” y “g”).
Comienza a comprender lo que le dicen, especialmente si le habla su madre o la persona que pasa más tiempo con él. Fija la mirada en la persona que le habla. Responde a las muestras de afecto y sonríe cuando le miman, le acarician o le hablan con dulzura. Gira la cabeza hacia el punto del cual proviene un sonido que le llama la atención.
Empieza a estar muy familiarizado con el uso del lenguaje y responde con largas vocalizaciones que cambian de tono. Pueden parecer discursos, no dejes que sean monólogos: si le respondes y le hablas a menudo aprenderá a socializar y, también, se familiarizará mejor con el lenguaje oral. El bebé también contesta con sonrisas y con expresiones faciales a la persona que le habla.
Este peque comunica, sin pretenderlo, que tiene sueño (o que está aburrido).
Empieza a coordinar algunos movimientos. Utiliza brazos y piernas para darse la vuelta cuando está boca abajo y consigue ponerse de lado.
Empieza a descubrir más partes de su cuerpo: tendido de espaldas, levanta las piernas, que siguen flexionadas, y se toca las rodillas.
Ya coge objetos y se los lleva a la boca aunque es una habilidad todavía en desarrollo. Pone mucho empeño en coger cosas y, si no lo consigue, se enrabia y emite evidentes ruidos de enfado. Descubre sus pies y juega con ellos. Si está boca arriba, pedalea con las piernas.
Si lo coges por las axilas y le dejas apoyar los pies sobre una superficie (solo tiene que sentir el contacto, no debes dejar que apoye su peso) comienza a hacer fuerza como si quisiera saltar.
Si lo pones de pie, se da impulso con las piernas para saltar.
Comienza a manipular con habilidad los objetos que coge y los suelta voluntariamente cuando quiere coger otros. También es posible que pueda sujetar un objeto en cada mano o que pueda pasar un objeto de una mano a la otra. Empieza a ser certero en llevarse cosas a la boca (aunque no selectivo, a esta edad pueden tener un poco de peligro) y puede empezar a comer algunos alimentos por sí solo, como un trozo de pan, un arbolito de brócoli, fruta cortada en tiras (ver artículo 17 alimentos para empezar con el BLW)). Agarra con toda la mano, apretando. También se lleva los pies a la boca (si está tumbado boca arriba, no es un contorsionista aunque lo parece).
Cuando está boca arriba levanta la cabeza y la parte superior de la espalda y, si le apetece, tiende los bazos para que lo levantes
Entre los 6 y los 7 meses puede aparecer uno de los reflejos secundarios que más nos emociona e ilusiona a los papás: el gateo. No lo fuerces nunca y procura que cualquier actividad con él sea un juego en el que no haya metas. Si lo colocas tumbado sobre la barriga sobre una superficie firme verás que empieza a mover brazos y piernas como si gateara. No hay prisa para que gatee o para que ande y recuerda que no hay unas Olimpiadas para bebés que gatean: a su ritmo…
Reconoce el mundo que le rodea y responde a los estímulos. Empieza a comunicarse mejor y con más intención: pide atención llorando, gritando o sonriendo. Se mantiene sentado observando lo que le interesa.
Muchas veces, el peque protesta o llora cuando mamá no está cerca; ha tomado más consciencia del entorno y ya no quiere estar solo.
Su visión es mejor y su radio de curiosidad se amplía; dedica más tiempo a observar los objetos y cosas que le rodean y, también, lo que sucede a su alrededor.
Empieza a verse en los espejos y sonríe al compi del espejo, aunque no es consciente todavía de que es él mismo. Se pone contento cuando ve a personas que conoce y, según su carácter, puede empezar a mostrar timidez ante los extraños. Pasa de la risa al llanto con facilidad.
Su cara es muy expresiva; mira los objetos fijamente y a veces da la impresión de que los va a traspasar con la mirada (o peor aún, que va a entrar en tu mente muahahahaha). Se concentra en las cosas más tiempo.
Ha aprendido a llamar tu atención y lo hace conscientemente y a conciencia porque sabe que irás a verle y, con suerte, lo cogerás en brazos y hasta te lo llevarás contigo.
Los bebés de cinco meses son muy expresivos y ya saben cómo llamar tu atención.
A los cinco meses, nuestros retoños pueden descubrir un juego divertidísimo que les hará troncharse de risa, aunque tú no le acabarás de pillarle el punto: tirar al suelo todo lo que llega a sus manos. A esta edad ríen a carcajadas y con tremendas ganas a menudo.
La comunicación, tanto verbal como no verbal, empieza a ser más compleja y elaborada. Puede empujarte con los pies si se aburre o no le complaces o hacer el gesto de extender la mano hacia un objeto para que se lo des. También se expresa con vocalizaciones o gestos para que pares de hacer algo o para que sigas.
El bebé disfruta mucho con las visitas agradables, ya sean bebés o adultos (tiene su propio criterio sobre quién le parece simpático).
El bebé experimenta con la lengua y los labios para producir sonidos nuevos, con vocales y consonantes. Empieza a usar cuatro o más sílabas diferentes en una misma frase, balbucea y se dirige directamente a quien quiere para relacionarse. Los sonidos suelen ir acompañados de movimientos del cuerpo.
Imita los tonos de voz de las diferentes personas que ve y se da cuenta si una persona imita uno de sus movimientos y responde repitiéndolo (y sonriendo o riendo, todo es juego y descubrimiento).
Su comprensión mejora espectacularmente: entiende gestos sencillos como el saludo y empieza a entender el “no” y cuando lo oye se para con creciente frecuencia (o no, si ya ha entrado en alguna de las frecuentes fases de “autoafirmación” que viven los niños. Empieza a reconocer palabras como papá o mamá.
Disfruta mucho con las visitas agradables, ya sean bebés o adultos (tiene su propio criterio sobre quién le parece simpático).

Advertising campaigns are the engine of the fashion industry. Every year, fashion brands spend millions of dollars promoting new products and collections, and their success is largely dependent on the success of the campaigns. Creative directors and designers of leading fashion houses know that their careers can be the price of a mistake. They also learned the rule a long time ago that scandals only fuel interest in a product, which is why it is in the fashion business that you can often find examples of shocking advertising. Remember Benetton, which has repeatedly raised such dangerous topics for the world of commercial advertising as war, religion, politics and AIDS. Bold and uncompromising shots, many of which were taken by photographer Oliviero Toscani between 1982 to 2000 have often been at the center of controversy. Benetton continues to this day to use advertising to raise awareness of social issues, though it may not be as provocative as it was in Tuscany’s time.
Calvin Klein, which for decades was synonymous with highly sexualized advertising, had a similar story. In fact, in its 54 years of existence, the brand has come under fire for promoting gang rape, child pornography, and drug use. The ad has also been targeted by the American Family Association, the Department of Justice, and even former US President Bill Clinton. As a result, some pictures and videos were removed from magazines and taken off the air.
From Brooke Shields and Kate Moss to Justin Bieber and Kendall Jenner, Calvin Klein ad campaigns were full of bare skin, ambiguous poses, inviting looks, toned bodies and other allusions to intimacy and perfection. But today, as Gen Z is redefining what is «sexy», the brand is looking to promote a much more inclusive and intersectional politics. For many years, sex has been one of the main selling tools. And no one has used it more effectively than Calvin Klein. The designer’s clothes themselves could not be called overly seductive or defiant — it was all about the image that he created around her.
Just over forty years ago, an innocent by today’s standards Calvin Klein Jeans advertisement caused a real scandal and went down in marketing history forever. Famous American photographer Richard Avedon captured 15-year-old Brooke Shields in blue jeans and a one-button shirt. In the advertisements, Brooke crosses his legs and looks at the camera, and in the video he says the phrase that has become immortal: “You know what stands between me and my Calvin Klein jeans? Nothing». The public saw sexual overtones in these words and immediately accused Calvin Klein of promoting child pornography. As a result, the commercial was banned from broadcasting on several channels at once, and the production of the jeans model that the actress demonstrated had to be suspended until 1998 years.
Many years later, Brooke revealed that she had no intention of being provocative. It was just an easy way to say «I love my jeans». It is noteworthy that in 2017 Raf Simons, who was then the creative director of Calvin Klein, re-released Obsession and instead of shooting a new campaign, he used unreleased archive photos and videos from 1993.
The 1995 Calvin Klein Jeans ad campaign caused so much controversy that even the Department of Justice intervened. Shot by world-renowned fashion photographer Steven Meisel, the campaign featured models in a wood-panelled basement. The provocative ad immediately came under fire, with most parent groups deeming the images bordering on child porn. In addition, the company faced backlash from the Catholic League, the American Family Association and even former US President Bill Clinton. As a result of the complaints, the Justice Department was forced to launch an investigation to find out if Calvin Klein violated child pornography laws. The investigation was dropped when the company provided evidence that all models were of legal age.
After a month of futile attempts to communicate with critics, Calvin Klein announced the end of its advertising campaign, adding that its intentions «were misunderstood» by individuals and organizations.
In 2008, American TV channels refused to show advertisements for the new fragrance Secret Obsession by Calvin Klein and Coty because Eva Mendes appeared naked in it. Later, the American brand remade the video so that it could be broadcast on television, but only after nine in the evening. However, the company decided not to leave the original version without attention. So, as a brilliant marketing stunt, she posted an unedited version online of the actress rolling naked on the sheets.
Campaigner Fabien Baron laid the blame on George W. Bush, who was then the current president of the United States. “You must be joking. This country really needs a new president — the country is such a mess, ”he said in an interview with WWD , adding that if children can watch people being killed, then a little naked Mendez definitely won’t hurt.
In 2015, Calvin Klein launched an advertising campaign with elements of sexting. The ad featured sultry pictures of various people, complete with messages of nudity, cheating and threesomes. The brand claimed that the motive was real events and people.
Melisa Goldie, chief marketing officer for Calvin Klein, told WWD that they wanted to show how consumers connect and meet in the digital age, and to highlight the truth about modern dating in all its freedom and instantaneousness. The campaign was seen as a message about open relationships, complex sexuality, and modern love.
Advertisements were placed on large LED billboards in major cities around the world. And, not surprisingly, it caused a lot of controversy.
Benetton: All shades of fashion
#MyCalvins is one of the most successful fashion campaigns in recent years. Since its debut in 2014, it has featured a host of celebrities from Billie Eilish and Hunter Schafer to Shawn Mendes and A$AP Rocky. It also allowed Calvin Klein to become a more inclusive brand that demonstrates that its clothes are for everyone.
In 2015, Justin Bieber and Lara Stone appeared in Calvin Klein jeans and underwear ads. The campaign was a remake of a 1992 shoot by Mark Wahlberg and Kate Moss. At the time, the 20-year-old pop singer’s beefy body seemed too photoshopped to viewers, but according to WWD, brought the company 3.6 million new Instagram followers*.
According to Justin Bieber, he has been dreaming of collaborating with Calvin Klein for a long time and actually became its initiator. “I wore Calvin Klein underwear for years, hoping that one day I would get the chance to pose for the brand. I posted a picture of myself in my underwear on Instagram with the hashtag #mycalvins. Fortunately, Calvin Klein saw this and liked the reaction of the subscribers. In 2016, the brand decided to re-energize its fans with a series of candid and provocative images taken by fashion photographer Harley Weir. The slogan for the campaign was «I… in #mycalvins», inviting consumers to share what they do with the brand’s clothing.
Weir saw the models from a completely unexpected angle. So, Saskia de Brau appeared topless, hugging a white goat, and Kendall Jenner sensually squeezed a grapefruit cut in half. The girls took part in a photo shoot directed by Mario Sorrenti and starred in a candid video directed by Jon Lindstrom. Due to the coronavirus outbreak, pride events around the world have been canceled in 2020. Then Calvin Klein decided to team up with OutRight Action International, a charitable organization dedicated to protecting the rights of LGBT+ community representatives, and released an advertising campaign #PROUDINMYCALVINS.
The photoshoot featured drag queen Pabllo Vittar, model and actress Ama Elsesser, artist and activist Chella Man, photographer MaryV and actor Tommy Dorfman. Each star wore iconic Calvin Klein lingerie reimagined with bold iridescent details.
All proceeds from the sale of the new #PROUDINMYCALVINS collection were used by the brand to provide emergency financial resources to LGBT+ organizations.

After creating his account in February 2019, he began posting short videos of celebrities on the platform in which they shared true facts about themselves. In December 2021, Calvin Klein decided on another experiment. The brand handed over its Instagram account* to Pete Davidson. The American actor and comedian changed the brand’s profile picture to a photo of himself wearing a cap, and wrote in his biography: «Pete is here. »
The same evening Davidson went live with his friend Machine Gun Kelly. They sat in a lavish living room in white Calvin Klein T-shirts and shorts, taking pictures and interacting with fans.
Following Davidson, the Calvin Klein account was taken over by the protagonist of «Squid Games» Ho Young Chung. Her first photo was a selfie in front of a mirror with the caption: «Calvin Klein gave me his password.» Of course, after that, she also chatted with fans live and shared other pictures of herself wearing Calvin Klein signature pieces.
This cunning campaign lasted only five days. The brand finished it off by changing the avatar to their logo and posting regular photos.

Volcanic oasis off the coast of Africa
What is there, at the very top of the island, on the edge of the caldera?
The Spanish island of La Palma is part of the Canary archipelago. It is located in the Atlantic off the coast of Africa. This is a fantastic place for trekking, which was a real discovery for us. We hope to return there again and again. The entire center of the island is a huge volcanic caldera 10 km in diameter. The caldera is the sinkhole that is left when a stratovolcano makes a Big bada boom. This is what distinguishes the island from its more famous neighbor — the island of Tenerife, in the middle of which a whole volcano still rises.
One of the largest astrophysical observatories in the world
Roque de los Muchachos Peak or, in our opinion, «Kid’s Rock» sheltered on its shoulders one of the most famous observatories in the world — it is the European Astrophysical Observatory, which belongs to the Canary Institute of Astrophysics and is part of the northern European Observatory. We, as passionate fans of space, began our acquaintance with the island from here!
The first local astronomers were the local Avara Indians
Roque de los Muchachos summit is located at an altitude of 2400 m. This is one of the three most favorable places on earth to observe the clear starry sky. For reference, the other 2 are Mauna Kea in Hawaii and the Atacama Desert in Chile.
The uniqueness of the island of La Palma is that most of the year the trade winds drive air masses from the northeast thousands of kilometers over the ocean. They collide with the sheer walls of the caldera and rise sharply upwards. The air cools, moisture condenses in the form of clouds and at the same time
traps dust particles. This snow-white blanket usually sways
below the ridge on which the observatory’s 16 telescopes are located.
The place itself was chosen by the indigenous tribes of the island — Avara. Before the summer drought, they drove the flocks of sheep higher, where the climate remained more humid and cool even in the height of summer. Of course, they could not fail to notice the relationship between the movement of stars across the sky and the change of seasons. It turns out that they were the first local astronomers.
At first, the construction of the observatory faced resistance from the local authorities.
Modern scientists rediscovered the island in the early 70s. By this time, telescopes were becoming more and more accurate and sensitive to external interference. They required an exceptionally clean and calm atmosphere in order to observe space. Air travel became more and more affordable. The first of the new arrivals were astronomers from Sweden, Germany and France, but it was not possible to immediately agree with the local authorities. Only a few years later, thanks to the help of Spanish scientists, plans were announced to build an international observatory and a road to it.
Later, the so-called Sky Law was passed by the local authorities. It restricts air travel near the observatory, atmospheric pollution, electromagnetic radiation and, most importantly, lighting on the island.
For example, the light from all street lamps should spread straight down and not in all directions, as is usually the case in busy tourist cities.
If you look at the Canaries at night from a height of, say,
of the ISS flight, then the outlines of La Palma will be barely visible.
The two Canarian observatories work in close cooperation
The further development of the Roque de los Muchachos observatory went in parallel with the Del Teide observatory on the neighboring island of Tenerife. They are located at a distance of 144 km from one another and both belong to the Canarian Institute of Astrophysics
. It was they who conducted the famous experiment with photons, which once again confirmed the phenomenon of quantum entanglement.

The first telescope of the complex on La Palma, named after Isaac Newton, was brought here across the ocean in 1974, from the Royal Green Observatory of England. He did not work there for long, the conditions in the British Isles, to put it mildly, are not worse than those here. But the official inauguration of the observatory took place only 6 years later. The ceremony was held on a grand scale — in addition to the Spanish royal family, 6 heads of European states and 4 more families from Denmark, the Netherlands, Sweden and Great Britain were invited. Now the observatory consists of 16 international telescopes of various sizes and each solves its own unique tasks. They watch our own star, distant objects of the solar system, neighboring stars,
other galaxies, watch meteorites, look for exo-planets, in general observe the cosmos in all its beauty and fullness.
By the way, people don’t look into a modern telescope, it simply doesn’t have a place where one could look into an eyepiece. First, the human body is warm and consequently radiates in the IR range, which can cause interference. Secondly, scientific instruments have long been engaged in this business, which then transmit information to computers, and the operator sits in a separate room and sees the picture on the monitor. And the original picture is usually black and white. Colorful photos of the universe are obtained by superimposing several frames taken through different filters. And the most delicious, worthy photo wallpaper on your laptop is a collage of pictures in radio, optical, IR, X-ray and other spectra.
Even in the cleanest atmosphere, telescope mirrors are covered with dust and
need to be cleaned from time to time. This is usually done with dry ice,
, which is sprayed from a small hand gun. However, some
stains cannot be removed by this method and a special
detergent solution must be used. Although, as the guide told us, on one of the
telescopes we got very good results with a solution of children’s
Johson’s baby shampoo. Here, of course, their advertisement was supposed to appear, but
Jonson & Jonson could not agree with us. 🙂
In order for such a complex system not to shake when rotating, it must be calibrated and balanced no worse than a Swiss watch, and this weighs 385 tons! With the hydraulic pump turned off, even a child can move the giant structure, as it actually floats on an oil cushion. It is inside this colossus that you can get on an excursion.
Swedish 1-m Solar Telescope
Second unique object and pride of the La Palma complex — Swedish
solar reflecting telescope (Swedish 1-m Solar Telescope (SST). In almost 30 years of operation, it has already experienced several upgrades. Its mirror is only about 1 m, but this is the case when size does not matter. When observing the Sun, one one of the main tasks is to prevent overheating of instruments.Therefore, there is a vacuum behind its main lens.At one time, it produced images of our star of the highest resolution
and helped to explore the atmosphere of Venus when it passed through the solar disk.By the way, this telescope is not used in winter. And one day, after a winter holiday, the staff was adjusting and calibrating it and noticed some strange, previously unexplored movement in the sun. But then it turned out that they just disturbed the mouse that was wintering there. Just don’t ask where and how it could be in the telescope mouse, this story was told to us by an employee of the observatory, so all questions are for her. 0016
Another hallmark of the observatory is the twin telescope MAGIC,
, which with its two eyes scans space in the gamma range in search of
Cherenkov radiation. If I understand correctly, Cherenkov radiation —
is what reaches us after the collision of gamma rays with the upper layers of the
atmosphere. And objects very far from us radiate in this range —
supernovae, pulsars, double stars and black holes.
The 17-meter mirrors of this telescope are the largest of their kind in the world.
But besides the complex tasks of the cosmic scale, it has another simple and

It is better to settle closer to the observatory, the winding serpentine will not allow you to get there very quickly
La Palma is a small island. It will be permissible to spend the night on the coast, and in the morning go to the observatory. But the most beautiful and pleasant time on the top of the mountain is just after dawn, so it’s better to settle closer.
The ideal way to get to the observatory is through a steep mountain serpentine, but you will need a car for this. It can be rented on the coast. The prices are very moderate.
It is fantastically beautiful upstairs, but quite windy and cold, so bring warm clothes.
