Una de las canciones más icónicas del rock es una crítica al sistema educativo tradicional, más preocupado por impartir disciplina que por compartir conocimiento.
El famoso estribillo “All and all you’re just another brick in the wall” (No eres más que un ladrillo en el muro) hace referencia a la pérdida de la individualidad y a la formación de personas poco críticas frente a lo que sucede a su alrededor.
Be true to your school – Beach Boys
Esta canción es un homenaje a la Hawthorne High School, en California, a la que asistieron varios de los integrantes del grupo. En sus comienzos, los Beach Boys trataban temáticas muy adolescentes, y por supuesto el colegio no podía quedar por fuera.
Esta canción es un llamado a estar orgulloso de la escuela a la que se pertenece.

Otra canción icónica del rock que nos transporta a un día cotidiano en el colegio. La frase de cierre “salve, salve al rock and roll, libérame de los días de antaño” se convirtió en el título de un documental sobre Chuck Berry en 1987.
Bandas como AC/DC, The Beach Boys, Jan&Dean y hasta Los Simpson han hecho versiones de esta canción.

No me enseñen la lección – Mecano
El sentimiento de ser incomprendido y estar distraído en clase fantaseando sobre el futuro, aunque no se tenga muy claro qué se quiere hacer con la vida, es capturado a la perfección en esta canción de 1980.
La canción forma parte del álbum debut homónimo de Mecano, y tuvo gran éxito en países como Colombia y Venezuela.

Décimo grado – Ana y Jaime
Este dúo colombiano fue famoso en las décadas de los 70s y 80s. Décimo grado es un gran retrato de todos los elementos que forman parte del paisaje escolar: las materias, los compañeros de salón, los romances y los amigos.
‘Décimo grado’ formó parte de la banda sonora de una serie juvenil colombiana muy exitosa durante los ochenta con el mismo nombre.

Con mucha ironía y humor, esta canción muestra que enseñar no es tan sencillo como algunos creen.

Esta canción forma parte de la banda sonora de una película juvenil con el mismo nombre.
