A month has passed since the grand opening of the new kindergarten No. 49 on Novgorodsky Prospekt in Shushary. During this time, even very young residents of the Pushkinsky district managed to get to know the educators properly, found new friends and joined the rhythm of an exciting life.
“Of the 21 kindergartens that have been put into operation over the past decades, in my opinion, this one is the best in a number of ways. Exceptional project, wonderful infrastructure, wonderful design – the kindergarten is like a toy. There is everything necessary for the development and maintenance of children.
The team has already been assembled, they are conducting developmental classes with children,” said Natalia Mikusheva, head of the education department of the administration of the Pushkinsky district of St. Petersburg.
The total area of the preschool institution is 10,000 square meters. The three-story building houses a swimming pool, a catering department, a medical department, a sports and music hall, 18 group rooms, general developmental and compensatory groups function.
“There are always shortcomings, but they can be solved. I emphasize that the head of the new kindergarten No. 49 holds meetings with parent groups, at which the most exciting issues are discussed, ways are outlined for creating a single team in which teachers, parents and children would be equal participants. There is every reason for optimism,” Natalya Mikusheva summed up in a conversation with journalists.
At the present time in the village of Shushary there is still a problem of shortage of places in kindergartens.
However, the administration of the Pushkinsky district of St. Petersburg is taking all possible measures to gradually eliminate it. So, for example, parents were given the opportunity to take their children to kindergartens within walking distance, and not to take them to remote gardens in the cities of Pushkin and Pavlovsk. At the same time, the maximum number of children simultaneously staying in preschool institution No. 49 has not exceeded 400 since the opening.
“When I first came to this kindergarten, the artists painted the walls. It was amazing! I remember the first impressions and emotions of my child. For me, the inner world in kindergarten is very important. I was also very worried about what the teachers would be like. They are wonderful, very kind and sincere. Where did you meet the kindergarten, where there is a pool, and sand therapy, as well as physical education, music, and so on? – shared Irina Merkulenko, mother of a pupil of kindergarten No.
49in Shushary.
Irina also noted that she was looking forward to meeting the manager.
“Nadezhda Viktorovna took us through all the floors, we saw all the rooms. She took the time to each parent and showed where our children will study, ”she added.
According to another parent, Yulia Sarina, enough time has passed to assess the conditions in the kindergarten, to get acquainted with the management, teachers and give an honest, unbiased opinion.
“The garden is just wonderful! All conditions for comfortable and safe stay of children are created in our nursery group. There is a separate entrance with its own video intercom, a spacious dressing room, a bedroom, a lot of toys. It can be seen that the soul is invested in the kindergarten, ”she said.
The head of kindergarten No. 49 in Shushary emphasized that in the process of designing a preschool institution, every detail was thought out to the smallest detail.
“Everything was taken into account – from the color scheme of the walls and blocks to the entrance area, which is designed with navigation so that parents can quickly find their way to their group.
Made brightly so that the child, coming to kindergarten, forgets about his worries. After all, the peculiarity of children’s attention is switchability, ”said Nadezhda Kolnaze.
Nadezhda Viktorovna added that additional purchases of equipment were made in kindergarten No. 49 – children’s lockers, tables, chairs and toys. Its delivery will be completed by October 4th.
Let’s add that currently in the territory of the village of Shushary (Central estate) the developer LLC “Universal-Plus” is building a pre-school educational institution for 320 places at the address: pos. Shushary, Okulovskaya street, building 19, building 2, building 1. The planned date for obtaining permission to put the facility into operation is December 2021.
In addition, the developer Kaskad LLC (Leader Group LLC) is building a combined educational facility for 350 places (a preschool education facility for 150 places and an elementary general education facility for 200 places) at the address: pos.

The guests of the editorial board, senior teacher, director Natalya Konstantinova and director of the Center Marina Lyashchenko, told reporters how a wonderful center grew out of a modest theater circle, which became a “second home” for hundreds of talented children.
NGK : First, tell us a little about yourself.
Natalya Konstantinova : You can say that I was at the origins of the theater studio “Helios”. At first it was a theater group, I led it from the moment it was founded, since 1991. The circle then worked at the regional House of Pioneers and Schoolchildren. Now, thirty-two years later, the theater group of six people has grown into a team with more than 260 children.
Marina Lyashchenko : I am the director of the Sodruzhestvo Creative Center, an additional education institution subordinate to the Department of Education of the city of Krasnodar. Since we are a municipal institution, all children study with us free of charge. The Center for Creativity was established in 1978 – and was the House of Pioneers and Schoolchildren of the Oktyabrsky District of the city of Krasnodar. In 1991, after the merger of Pervomaisky and Oktyabrsky districts into the Central District, our center was also transformed, which united creative teams from two different districts.
“NGK” : Is the center adapted enough to fulfill its tasks, are there enough premises, equipment, personnel for this?
Marina Lyashchenko : Since 2006 we have been located on the street. Chapaev, 85/1, in the building of the former school number 28. There are now three organizations working with children, including our Center. Until 2006, we were located on the street. Shevchenko, 2, it was there that the theater studio “Helios” originally worked.
NGK : I mean was born?
Natalya Konstantinova : No, she was born in the Pervomaisky district. It was only later, after the merger, that we moved to Shevchenko Street.
Maria Lyashchenko : Probably, I have been working at the Center since 1998, after the first course I came here to work. The great merit of the previous head of the Center lies in the fact that such an association nevertheless appeared.
“NGK” : I would like to get to know Natalya Andreevna, the founder of the theater studio, better.
Natalia Konstantinova : I graduated from the Krasnodar Institute of Culture and was among the first graduates of the then young university.
NGK : Do you remember your teachers? Who stood at the origins of the university?
Natalya Konstantinova : I remember Mikhail Nagli, I acted and studied under him, and the rest changed so often that I don’t even remember. But Mikhail Vladimirovich was remembered well – a wonderful teacher and a person with whom I have many fond memories.
“NGK” : Does anyone else work in your profession besides you?
Natalia Konstantinova: Not in Krasnodar. It was a correspondence course, and most of the students were visitors. Everyone left, unfortunately, I lost contact with them a long time ago. After graduating from high school, I worked for twenty years in Astrakhan, at a military factory, where I also organized a theater group, which later received the title of “People’s Theater”.
There I worked, of course, with adults. I started working with children by accident. Having already returned to Krasnodar, I went to the Palace of Pioneers to arrange my daughter in some theater group. There I was asked about my specialty and, having learned about my education and work experience, they offered me to work here. The first circle members were from my daughter’s class – five girls and one boy. From this modest circle grew the huge team that we have now.
“NGK” : How is the repertoire compiled, who determines which play to stage?
Natalia Konstantinova : It’s easy to define – we do not limit the directors in the choice of performances.
NGK : Do you have real directors, are there many of them?
Natalya Konstantinova : Yes, that’s their speciality. Among them is my daughter, Ekaterina Konstantinova, a teacher of stage speech, another teacher Alexander Kurylenko has been working with us for twenty years, and the rest of the directors all graduated from our Krasnodar Institute of Culture.
NGK : Does your studio have official directors’ rates?
Natalya Konstantinova : Strictly speaking, we have one director’s position. All the rest go as teachers of additional education: in stage speech, in acting, there is a teacher-choreographer, a teacher in stage movement, in vocals. These are all graduates of our university, and often students of Helios.
“NGK” : The theater is people of the same blood, like-minded people. This is true? How big is your turnover?
Natalya Konstantinova : We have a permanent backbone of teachers, starting with my daughter, Ekaterina Konstantinova, Alexander Kurylenko, who I have already named, Yulia Kocherga, there are others who have been working with us since the foundation.
It happens that someone leaves. Still, working with children is hard work. Interesting, but heavy, and very responsible. Of the youth, not everyone can stand it … You see, we have groups of children assigned to each director, and if the director leaves, then the group is left without a teacher, as in a school without a class teacher.
We have to urgently look for another! I must say that we are not particularly looking for, specialists themselves come to us.
NGK : During the years of the theater studio’s existence, how many productions have there been? Judging by the number of programs, you have a repertoire just like in the Bolshoi Theatre…
Marina Lyashchenko : When we were planning to celebrate the theatre’s thirtieth anniversary, Natalya Andreevna and I were going to hold a big anniversary event. It was then that we calculated the approximate number of performances staged over the years. Right now we are in the 32nd season, in the repertoire of this season there are about seven performances. It was talking about directors – that one leaves, another comes – so we calculated that each director releases two works annually. One is aimed at older children, and the second – at younger children. That is, the repertoire is built in such a way that it suits audiences of different ages.
We have created an artistic council, which includes not only the teachers of the Helios studio, but also the teachers of the entire Center, who manage theater associations, but actually work on the basis of schools. These school groups are called differently, they are not Helios, but they are also our teachers. Under an agreement with schools on gratuitous rent in the city’s schools, our teachers teach children theatrical art. There are also teachers who have been working in school theater studios for over 25 years! We approve the repertoire for the new year at the end of October-beginning of November of the previous year. We are trying to come up with some performances for the “Week of the Theater” – this is the last week of March. And the bulk of the premiere, as a rule, falls on the end of May-beginning of June.
NGK : Please list what is in your theater’s repertoire this year?
Natalya Konstantinova : At the moment we have two performances for children of primary school and preschool age – “Alice in Wonderland” and “The Road of Kindness”.
For older ages – “The Tale of the Priest and his worker Balda.” With this performance, we went to festivals, took first place. Somehow imperceptibly, we are already accustomed to taking the Grand Prix. There are also performances based on the works of Teffi, and for the age of 14 and above, we also have three performances: “Chronicles of the Main City”, “Tevye the Milkman” and “Reversion of Life”.
NGK : Do you have your own playwrights?
Natalia Konstantinova : Well, we’ve already said it’s the teachers themselves. Directors themselves are looking for themes for productions. In order to find material, it is necessary, first of all, to take into account the abilities of the actors in their group, what they are capable of.
Marina Lyashchenko : I would like to add a little to Natalya Andreevna when we said that the director starts from children: these are not just words. We are located in the center of the city, as many people think, in the “elite area”.
In fact, a very different contingent lives here, including many dysfunctional families with children registered with the police. And we have a lot of such guys, and sometimes they come to us unexpectedly even for themselves. There was a case, for example, when a child was walking by, got caught in the rain and ran to us to wait out the bad weather. And we just started showing the play at that time. I took this child by the hand into the hall to see, put him in the hall, and soon he was already on the lists of our theater. That is, these children, by and large, come “from the street.” It is on them that the teacher focuses. In addition to the main employees, I would also like to note the work of our educational psychologist, who goes side by side with the director, helps the child to relax, remove stiffness. And if we talk about how the performance is approved, then, of course, all this is discussed jointly with everyone. I do not hide, I say that sometimes our guys even surprise me with their bold projects.
“Shouldn’t we take a swing at our William Shakespeare,” as they say. And most often I trust their choice, and then I myself am surprised that once again they succeeded. All these rehearsals, endless gatherings, certain organizational difficulties – all this is there. Despite all the difficulties, I go forward: we move classes, free the hall, go to other expenses – and the end result is worth it!
NGK : Do you have your own primas? And intrigue, as in any theater?
Natalya Konstantinova : Of course, everything is there. And there is romance, and couples are created from circle members, everything is as it should be. There are also sadder reasons – in memory of the two deceased members of our Center, we had a performance in memory of Anna Polyakova and Daniil Konstantinov.
Marina Lyashchenko : In general, the theatre’s repertoire is really large, here you can see the poster of Tormented Babies – it was a very interesting performance aimed at middle-aged and older teenagers.
The guys developed this poster themselves, they invented it – that is, they are direct participants in the creation of performances at all its stages. Children from different social centers come to us and leave impressed. And not only children – even specialists from various social services sometimes say: “We are shocked.” But they work with difficult teenagers. It turns out that we literally open up new horizons for “difficult” children, because you can also educate the theater. When not only these children, but also the teachers who work with them, change their ideas about how the theater affects children, it is worth a lot. Teachers begin to work with children in a different way, learning to communicate with them again through the power of art.
Natalya Konstantinova : When I started working, there were theater groups in all schools. And we, as the Center, went and watched their performances and rehearsals, held festivals, identified talented kids. Unfortunately, for some reason it all went away.
But now, thank God, it is starting to recover, and the children’s interest in the theater is increasing.
Marina Lyashchenko : A year ago, the President of the Russian Federation signed a decree that every school in our country should have a theater group. The Ministry of Education and Science of the Krasnodar Territory and the Department of Education of Krasnodar have done a lot of work, as a result of which, by September 1, 2022, all schools in Krasnodar have opened their theater groups. And our Center “Commonwealth”, as the only one that has such a long history, led this work by order of the Department of Education. Now we are curators from the Department of Education for school theater groups. We introduce colleagues to each other, share experience, provide methodological assistance.
This work has just begun, but we already have tremendous results. Thanks to this, in September-October we were able to hold the first citywide theater festival among educational organizations “Theatre where children play.
” More than forty children’s institutions took part in the festival – these are institutions of additional education, general education schools, and kindergartens. The performances were striking in their diversity: Thumbelina, Tsokotukha, Shakespeare with Romeo and Juliet, and even a production based on the works of Yevgeny Yevtushenko. The idea to bring to the stage of the festival groups that were formed on the basis of schools, and to support them belongs to the director of the department of education in Krasnodar, Alexei Sergeevich Nekrasov. He absolutely correctly judged that there was nothing to wait for, it was necessary to start immediately and thoroughly. The awarding of the winners of the theater festival took place right in the city administration, we were supported by Vice Mayor Liliana Nikolaevna Egorova. With her light hand, the festival took place, and God willing, it will become an annual event. There was an awards ceremony in the foyer of the organ hall of the city administration.
And this, of course, is the great merit of Natalya Andreevna: who could have imagined thirty years ago that a small theater group would grow into such a large-scale project on the basis of enthusiasm alone.
NGK : In your opinion, does the theater captivate modern children, is it interesting for them? If we compare Soviet children with today’s: those had a lack of information, and these had an overabundance …
Natalia Konstantinova : To be honest, I don’t see much difference. If a child is passionate about this, he will give his soul to the theater. As it was before, as it is now. I remember one moment when a company from the street came to us – “daredevils”. They used foul language, behaved cheekily, and when they left, we decided that we would not see them again. But already at the next rehearsal they came neat, combed, dressed up – and began to work. Moreover, everyone who came then became very good people, engaged in the theater selflessly, we did great performances with them – Chippolino, The Little Humpbacked Horse.
We are still working with Boris Miroshnichenko, he is a well-known presenter in Krasnodar – one of the guys in my first graduation.
“NGK” : Do your theater repertoire includes performances about the life of modern children, about their problems. Are these problems different from childhood problems 30 years ago?
Natalya Konstantinova : You know, children’s problems are not particularly different. Yes, now, perhaps, children are more developed, because they have phones, computers, faster ways to get information. But the children are the same, and they have the same problems. Not even a problem, but a relationship in general. In our theater, for example, there are many couples who got married after graduating from school, and first met in the theater. Children love the theater, they live in it and behave here in a completely different way than their peers. Everyone notices this – both parents and teachers. Our children are very different from other children.
And from an early age. We have an early development studio “Solnyshko”, it was also originally formed on the basis of “Helios”, and today it is an independent educational program – we take preschoolers there. They teach acting, and choreography, and vocals, and decorative art, and ABC studies. Three days a week, the kids are engaged, for two hours – half an hour for each subject. And when they go to school, everyone notes that our “suns” are very different from other children.
Marina Lyashchenko : Now this studio covers more than 70 people – from 4 to 7 years old. We do not set ourselves the task of immediately teaching them to read and write, but we develop them creatively, we create the base that will allow them to decide in the future. If they are interested in the skill of an actor, they go to the Helios theater studio. In general, a base is being formed that allows both parents, teachers, and the children themselves to know the child’s abilities, to understand at an early stage what to give preference to.
“NGK” : Is there a large dropout of children?
Marina Lyashchenko : In fact, it happens in different ways – it all depends on various factors, including parents. A child, like a sponge, absorbs the environment that surrounds it. If a parent says no, my child doesn’t need it, then there’s nothing you can do about it. We must trust the teacher, and soon it becomes clear what the child is drawn to. We do this not so that children necessarily become actors, directors or artists, but so that they become a versatile cultural personality. The center is very versatile – representatives of business, quite successful, have also come out of our walls. For more than 15 years, the children’s film studio “Kadrik” has been working for us, headed by Nadezhda Pashchenko. If the child “does not see” himself in the frame, he can find himself in the work “behind the scenes”. Nadezhda Dmitrievna has 37 graduates who entered and graduated from VGIK, Lomonosov Moscow State University – these are the guys who now work as masters of feature films, documentary filmmakers and so on.
Our center is a forge of personnel, which then receive the Grand Prix of various festivals, amateur and professional cinema. That is, the guys who did not find themselves in one thing, may well go to other areas. But at the same time, parents note such features when a child, doing vocals, for example, develops amazing mathematical abilities in himself – through musical notation, through a sense of tact, counting. That is, things that favorably affect the development of those abilities that are inherent in the child. Of course, we have a turnover when a child leaves after five years, but, nevertheless, it’s nice to get feedback like “It’s good that we started together with you.”
NGK : Speaking of parents, do you have problems with them?
Natalya Konstantinova : They still happen. Parents are much more difficult than children. Let me give you an example, when we were still working for Shevchenko, a child with a speech impediment came to us. We advised our parents to show it to a specialist, because our mother made such a scandal for us.
She took the child and did not bring him back to us. And there are many such cases. Parents need to be treated very delicately, and that happens in different ways …
Marina Lyashchenko : I will add to the question of what children find in us – they all come here with the need to satisfy some kind of personal hunger. It may also be a hunger for elementary human communication: the child may not need the first role, he is ready to jump like a wolf cub in Mowgli, if this allows him to join the team. I repeat: everyone has personal motives behind them, different family situations. The main task of the teacher is to discern this hunger in the child. Having quenched it, the child will no longer commit any unseemly acts or any actions against his own life. They come for communication, creative development, self-affirmation. We have children with disabilities. There was, for example, a girl who did not speak for two years. She came to class, nodded, made it clear that she understood what she was being asked about.
But at the same time, until the age of twelve – and she came to us at ten – the child was silent. She made, completed tasks, created beautiful works of applied art, became the winner of competitions, but she did not say a word out loud! At school, the story was the same: written assignments were completed with excellent marks, oral assignments were a complete failure. And only at home, as my mother said, she answered something extremely rarely. And when, two years later, she whispered that it was her birthday and asked for permission to bring a cake, the teacher froze with happiness. After this incident, the child came to us for another year and a half. Now this girl communicates normally, now she is in the ninth grade. What kind of shock is behind this, what kind of situation is not clear, but this is a fact from our life. The environment in our Center allows the child to be himself. And if the child feels comfortable here, the results will definitely come!

Marina Lyashchenko : No, all our programs are free of charge. But of course, sometimes we need help. And she comes! Including thanks to the support of the deputies of the City Duma, who always respond to our requests. For example, the former deputy chairman of the City Duma, Viktor Timofeev, also helped us a lot, as well as Dmitry Oberemchenko, Alexander Dyachenko. These are people who hear our requests and respond, for which we thank them very much. Some of our artists grew up and became the head of, for example, a furniture company or someone else, they help on their own initiative, in whatever way they can. Some illiquid assets are handed over to us for props, voluntary donations are made. We are always open to those who can and are ready to help us. Someone helps with printing, someone with props, is engaged in tailoring suits.
