About Quintina Meekins

Quintina Meekins joined the Fiscal Unit of the College of Pharmacy in June 2017. As a Fiscal Assistant II she supports the department of Medicinal Chemistry. Her responsibilities include processing the following: travel authorizations, travel and expense reimbursements, requisitions/purchase orders, Facilities Service requests, expense to expense journal entries, PCard reconciliation, invoice payments, check requests, household goods /lab moves and general customer service. In addition to serving her department, she also assists her fellow Fiscal team members, as needed.

Quintina started working for UF in 2006 as a Sr. Clerk in FA-PDS. In 2007, she was promoted as Program Assistant. Her responsibilities were assisting Purchasing Help Desk, Household/Lab moves, assisted Total Office Support, MyUF Market help desk and assisted the Administrative Support Assistant in her absence.

In 2010, Quintina joined Clinical Trials Phase I Unit until they closed in 2011. Her job duties consisted of travel authorizations, travel and expense reimbursements, requisitions/purchase orders, Facilities Service requests, expense to expense journal entries, PCard reconciliation, invoice payments, check requests for volunteers, assisting with grant submission and closing/IRB procedures, and assisted admin. with time reporting in their absence, ensure that.

After the closing of Clinical Trial Phase I Unit; Quintina began working for the Dept. of Biology as a Fiscal Assistant II. There her duties consisted of: travel authorizations, travel/expense reimbursements, household/ lab relocations, requisitions/purchase orders, Facilities Service requests, expense to expense journal entries, PCard reconciliation, invoice payments, check requests, monthly reconciliation reporting to accountant, Pre/Post Award submission and tracking and general customer service. In addition to serving her department, she also assists her fellow Fiscal/ Administrative members as needed.

Sergeant Major Quintina M. Pearson > Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune > Biography

Sergeant Major Pearson enlisted in the Marine Corps and attended recruit training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot (MCRD), Parris Island, South Carolina in September 2000. She completed Marine Combat Training in January 2001 and reported to Marine Corps Combat Service Support Schools, Field Radio Operator Course and obtained the MOS of 0621, Field Radio Operator. Upon completion of school, she reported for duty to Headquarters and Service Company, Combat Assault Battalion, 3d Marine Division, Okinawa Japan. During her tenure, she was meritoriously promoted to the rank of Corporal and participated in the Korean Integrated Training Program in South Korea.

In April 2002, Corporal Pearson reported to 1st Transportation Support Battalion, S6 platoon in Camp Pendleton, California. Shortly after she was transferred to the 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit Service Support Group (MSSG) and was meritoriously promoted to the rank of Sergeant. Sergeant Pearson deployed with the 13th MSSG as the Radio Chief in support of OPERATION IRAQI FREEDOM in October 2003. Upon returning from deployment, Sergeant Pearson attended the Marine Corps Martial Arts Green Belt Instructor Course and resident Sergeants Course.

In January 2006, Sergeant Pearson reported to Drill Instructor School Parris Island, South Carolina for duty as a Marine Corps Drill Instructor. Upon Completion of school, Pearson reported to 4th Battalion, Papa Company for duty as a Drill Instructor, Senior Drill Instructor, and as the chief instructor at the Academic Instruction Unit. Pearson was promoted to the rank of Staff Sergeant in February 2007. She was reassigned for duty as an instructor at Drill Instructor School MCRD Parris Island, South Carolina in August 2008.

In April 2009, Staff Sergeant Pearson reported for duty as the Radio Chief at Combat Logistics Battalion 6, 2d Marine Logistics Group (MLG), Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. In October 2009, Pearson was transferred to the 2d MLG, G6, as the Radio Chief. In October 2010, Staff Sergeant Pearson began training as the Female Engagement Team Platoon Sergeant. In March 2011, she deployed to Helmand Province, Afghanistan in support of OPERATION ENDURING FREEDOM. In October 2011, Pearson redeployed CONUS. She was promoted to the rank of Gunnery Sergeant in November 2011 and assumed duties as the Combat Logistics Regiment 2, Headquarters Company First Sergeant.

In February 2012, Gunnery Sergeant Pearson received orders to the Staff Non Commissioned Officer Academy, Camp Lejeune for duty as Faculty Advisor, Career Course. During her tenure she earned senior faculty advisor and also became the Career Course Staff Noncommissioned Officer In Charge (SNCOIC).

In January 2015, Gunnery Sergeant Pearson was assigned to 8th Communication Battalion, 2d Marine Headquarters Group for duty as a Radio Chief. Pearson was immediately assigned as the detachment SNCOIC/Communications Chief for the 2d Marine Expeditionary Brigade Training Exercise African Lion in the Kingdom of Morocco.

She was promoted to First Sergeant in May 2016 and assigned to 3d Transportation Support Battalion, 3d Marine Logistics Group, Okinawa, Japan and assigned as the First Sergeant of Motor Transportation Company. During her time with Motor Transport Company, Pearson deployed to the Republic of Korea in support of Exercise Pacific Reach 2017. Upon her return, Pearson attended her resident Professional Military Education at the Air Force Senior Noncommissioned Officer’s School in Montgomery, AL. Once she returned to Okinawa, she assumed the duties and responsibilities as the Landing Support Company First Sergeant in October 2017 and in May 2018, Pearson was transferred to Headquarters and Service Company. In June 2018, Pearson earned her Bachelorette Degree, Magna Cum Laude, in Organizational Management with Ashford University.

In July 2019, First Sergeant Pearson executed orders to Marine Corps Combat Service Support Schools, Camp Johnson, North Carolina where she served as the Financial Management School Senior Enlisted Advisor. She was promoted to Sergeant Major and subsequently assigned to Marine Medium Tiltrotor Training Squadron 204. 

In May 2022, Sergeant Major Pearson executed orders to Weapons Training Battalion, Stone Bay, North Carolina, where she serves as the Battalion Sergeant Major.

Her personal awards include the Navy Commendation Medal with 2 gold stars, the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal with 2 gold stars.
