To our great regret, the crazy popularity of Korean cosmetics quite naturally gave rise to an increase in the number of fakes.
The problem is that scammers most often counterfeit only replicated products that are in high demand. The bestsellers of such brands as: Elizavecca, Missha, FarmStay, Maxclinic and Holika Holika mainly fall under the distribution.
How to protect yourself from buying fakes and protect your skin from low-quality cosmetics? What to look for if you have any doubts about the originality of the product you are going to buy?
Let’s say you received a package of cosmetics and you can’t wait to try everything you bought! But before unpacking, we advise you to pay attention to the following points:
1. Look at the barcode! For original Korean products, it begins with the numbers “880”. If you see other numbers at the beginning, feel free to pass by. An important point: here we do not mean the article on the site, which consists of the last 8 digits of the barcode. The barcode is 13 digits!
2. We check the name, the presence of the composition and recommendations for the method of application.
The name must be correct and without typos. Take, for example, everyone’s favorite FarmStay Collagen & Hyaluronic Acid All-In-One Ampoule. On the original box (not on the jar itself) there is a signature that it is “ Brightening & Anti-wrinkle” . The fake version says “ Anti-wrinkle & Whitening” . We look carefully!
3. On the packaging we look for the contact details of the manufacturer and importer (address and phone number). If they don’t, you need to be careful. Most likely item you purchased:
A ) Not certified! This means that the composition indicated on the package may not correspond to the contents of the jar. In this case, you are at great risk to the health of your skin.
B ) Imported into the country illegally, which also does not add points to it.
В ) If you buy a fake, you will not be able to make a claim to the manufacturer about the quality of the product and resolve the conflict legally.
